These particular 4v top caps are designed expressly for German-made (2006 onwards) Besson Prestige and Sovereign euphoniums. 

Tests have concluded that it’s the 4th valve area that can be significantly altered with speciality products such as this. The weight, design and materials use can noticeably alter the sound quality, projection and colour of the euphonium.

Mass on its own does not necessarily improve performance, but the combination of the correct design, and the materials used does make a clear difference and adds great satisfaction for the performer.

Added resonance and tonal stabilty are easy to discern.
