Polar Vortex - for unaccompanied euphonium - Michael Forbes |

|
Here is another brand-new work, beautifully produced by Editions BIM, by the American tuba player and composer/arranger Michael Forbes.
This is a very welcome addition to a genre that needs excellent new works. At around six minutes duration this work should be very popular at college level for recitals and auditions. It is challenging but not over difficult, with a range from low concert E to high concert B-flat. It is rhythmic and driving with some large intervals and superb use of varied dynamics.
It is certainly fun to play, and I think also entertaining for audiences on a first listen.
Duration : 6.00
