Grandfather's Clock - George Doughty - Euphonium and Piano |
Could this possibly be the most-played theme and variation solo ever composed for the euphonium?!!
Steven Mead played this when he was a very young man, and has continued to play it at various intervals during his career. Most of the great euphonium players of the past have also performed this with brass bands, and sometimes with piano. Here is the original version with piano accompaniment, and if you are a euphonium player who doesn't know this, well this is a very important part of euphonium heritage which you should know and be able to 'rattle off', as the expression goes!
