Pulse - Thomas Doss - for solo euphonium (or baritone) and piano |
||
|
Just arrived at the store is this fantastic new solo by the Austrian composer, Thomas Doss.
The composer writes: Pulse, a solo work which was originally written for euphonium (or baritone) and wind orchestra, presented here with piano reduction.
As the title suggests this piece is very rhythmic nature, Pulse represents a life and vitality, which also characterises the work. The tempo remains virtually constant throughout the piece. Even during the cadenza, played by euphonium, the pulse continues to beat steadily.
This work is dedicated to the young baritone soloist Felix Geroldinger from Upper Austria.
You can watch Felix performing it here with the SBO Wind Orchestra from Upper Austria https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Se-TjZVOEew
