Here is a brand-new arrangement, scored for euphonium and trumpet with wind band accompaniment, of the beautiful Ave Maria by the Italian composer Caccini (1551-1618).
This composer known as Giulio Romana was also a teacher, singer, instrumentalist and writer of the very late Renaissance and early Baroque eras. He was one of the founders of the genre of Opera, and one of the single most influential creators of the new Baroque style.
This sumptuous melody has been arranged by the Dutch conductor/arranger Bert Langeler. The solo parts parts are not difficult to perform and audiences absolutely love to hear this music. This is sure to become highly popular!
Here is a Youtube clip of Steven Mead and the arranger Bert Langeler (trumpet!) performing this work with an Estonian youth wind band in Viljandi, March 2012: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4Hd-D7wkSs
