I Colli Senesi for 2 Euphonium (unaccompanied) - Robert Groslot |
||
|
We are delighted to be able to present this brand-new unaccompanied work for 2 euphoniums from a composer much in the headlines these days, due to his incredible Euphonium Concerto, the Belgian composer Robert Groslot.
This work is subtitled 'Homage to Dominico Scarlatti', and is dedicated to Misa Akahoshi and Steven Mead ( who as you may know recently became engaged to be married!)
Robert Groslot wrote this short piece in the hills of Siena, which explains the title. It is a short two-part sonate, in a style which refers to the keyboard sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti. This is an ode to one of the most celebrated landscapes in Italy where Tuscany reveals its truest beauty but also a tribute to Domenico Scarlatti, on of music’s great individualists.
It is a work which has its roots in the music of Scarlatti but given a wonderful modern touch of genius by Groslot. It is one movement and in two repeated sections.
It is supplied with parts in both TC in Bb and BC in C.
Highly recommended.
